International Travel Medical Insurance & Immunizations

International Travel Medical Insurance

All travelers are required to carry international travel medical insurance. Insurance coverage must provide the following:

  • Medical coverage for sickness and accident
  • Evacuation
  • Repatriation

Food for the Hungry will provide a basic level of coverage for all travelers. The insurance policy offered by Food for the Hungry is meant to serve as a baseline for all travelers. Your personal insurance will remain primary. The entire policy may be viewed online.

The policy will be purchased through Insurance Services of America operated by Missionary Health. If you would like to purchase additional travel medical insurance coverage, you may do so by contacting Missionary Health.

Immunizations

Food for the Hungry recommends consulting your primary care physician and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to determine what health precautions should be taken while traveling internationally. While vaccinations are recommended, they are not required by Food for the Hungry.

However, certain countries require proof of vaccination for entry. To learn more about the CDC’s recommendations and country entry requirements, please visit the CDC’s website. If you do not have a primary care physician, the CDC offers a “Find a Clinic” feature that will identify travel medical clinics in your area.
